Welcome to South March! Bonjour et bienvenue à South March!
South March is located on the unceded and still unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people. The Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial and we recognize their continued presence today as well as the many First Nation, Metis, and Inuit students, families, and staff that call Ottawa home.
It is our pleasure to be your administration team for the 2023/24 school year. This year we have approximately 500 students.
At South March, our dedicated staff of teachers, early childhood educators, educational assistants, and support staff will work together to support your child(ren) on their individual journey of student achievement and well-being. We are committed to providing an equitable, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all of our community members feel welcome, respected, and valued.
We value the partnerships that have been forged between our staff and families. Open communication between home and school is vital in supporting our students and keeping families aware of their child’s progress. If you are looking to get involved with the school, there are many ways opportunities that fit a variety of schedules. Many of the special events and activities that take place within the school and community would not happen without the combined efforts of our staff, our School Council, and our many volunteers.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with you and the students at S.M.P.S.!
Sincerely,
Alison Boyd (Principal) and Heather MacAskill (Vice Principal)
